Auditions to Curtain Calls
\n\nAn Adult Acting Workshop Series
\n($65 for All 3)
This workshop series takes the actor through each phase of the performance cycle. It is the perfect introduction to theatre for anyone thinking about auditioning for the first time\, or for those who want to hone their acting skills. Take any workshop individually\, or sign-up for all three. A great way to prepare for upcoming productions with PCT!
\n\nWorkshop 1: Auditions &ndash\; The Process
\nSeptember 24\, 2016\; 9am-Noon
\nCost: $25
This is where it all starts\, with the audition. Emphasis will be on the fundamentals of auditioning\, giving the student techniques and feedback during mock auditions. The class will cover such topics as cold readings and character movement.
\n\nWorkshop 2: Character Study
\nOctober 15\, 2016\; 9am-Noon
\nCost: $25
The second workshop will focus on skills to help bring your character to life. We will discuss character choices\, and how to make a character more interesting and unique.
\n\nWorkshop 3: Scene Study
\nNovember 5\, 2016\; 9am-Noon
\nCost: $25
The final workshop will expand on the second workshop by bringing multiple characters together in a scene. Techniques such as gestures\, stealing focus\, and reacting to other actors and the audience will be introduced and explored.
\n\nOur Instructor
\nAll three (3) workshops will be taught by Jeff Cochran\, one of our favorite thespians who recently starred on the PCT stage as Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and Amos in Chicago. Jeff has an impressive resume\, having studied at the &ldquo\;Performing Artists&rsquo\; Musical Theatre Conservatory&rdquo\; in Dallas\, and &ldquo\;Luigi&rsquo\;s Jazz Center&rdquo\; in New York City\; as well as spending 17 years performing and working in productions through-out the world.
Who\, When\, and Where?
\nThese workshops are open to anyone age 16 and over. The dates for the workshops are set for September 24th\, October 15th\, and November 5th\, from 9am &ndash\; noon to be held at the Brown Centre for the Performing Arts\, 115 Clarksville Street.
