Candlelight Tours of the Maxey House
It is said things look different in the dark, and that is true of the Sam Bell Maxey House, especially around Halloween. The Maxey House will be open late on October 24th from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. for candlelight tours on Saturday night. During the tours, visitors will learn about Victorian death, funeral, and mourning traditions.
Tours will be given every 15 minutes starting at 10 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. If you attend both "A Victorian Halloween at the Maxey House" and a candlelight tour on October 24th, admission is only $7. Reservations of tour slots in advance are preferred if you want a tour at a specific time. Those who do not reserve a tour time will be given tickets to the next available tour time upon arrival.
