Christmas at the Maxey House

Stop by the Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site on Saturday, December 14th from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. for a jolly good time during the site’s annual “Christmas at the Maxey House.” Visitors will step into a Victorian family’s home in the midst of preparing for and celebrating Christmas. Come learn about past Christmas traditions from the late 1800s and see how today’s Christmas is both different from and similar to a Victorian family’s Christmas. During the program, visitors will have numerous opportunities to participate in traditional Victorian Christmas crafts as they explore the historic house, decorated for the season.
