Livingston’s Stuffed and We Ain’t “Lion” Thanksgiving No turkeys were harmed in the making of this event (we promise!) Thanksgiving is one of the most joyous times of the year- a time for family, friends, and good food. Oddly enough, however, it wasn’t even a national holiday until Abraham Lincoln named it so in 1863, during the height of the Civil War! The turkey’s origins in this holiday are strange, too- surprisingly, these fine fowl almost became our national bird! Kids will learn all about the interesting origins of Thanksgiving and how Thanksgiving was celebrated in the past, while coming up with and sharing their own Thanksgiving traditions. They will also make Leaf Turkeys and Bags of Thanks to take home!
