Parlor Chat Series at the Maxey House

Join us for our brand new parlor chat series! There will be a new topic every other month, each topic following this year’s theme of “Love and Marriage.”

We will meet in the parlor of the Maxey House at 3 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month (unless otherwise noted). Parlor chats should last around 45 minutes.

In September, we will discuss Victorian courting etiquette. Come and learn about some of the interesting aspects of Victorian courting, such as the different “languages” that were considered as things you must know while courting and the rules of courtship.
