Parlor Chat Series at the Maxey House

Join us for a special edition parlor chat in the month of October!  In conjunction with our Archeology Month event, Gravestone Symbols and their Meanings in Evergreen, we are hosting a special parlor chat to discuss the meanings of different gravestone symbols.  Gravestones are very personal things, used to represent the people that they honor.  In the past, different symbols and carvings on gravestones held certain meanings and told the viewer something about the deceased.  Come and learn about what some of these symbols meant which you can later use to help interpret older gravestones on your own future visits to cemeteries.
